Well, today I really have no idea where to begin. We're just approaching our halfway point to our time here in South Africa. And we are so busy. And I love every minute. God is so good! But what in the world have I been doing in South Africa the past 2 months!? Gosh I'm so glad you asked!
Well here's the deets and the tails, the overall sha-bang, glimpse into my life these past 2 months... [I'm kind of scattered, so do forgive me =)]
Nursing classes all day Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. Helpppp =/
Tuesdays & Thursdays = Clinicals. Either in the community or in local HIV/AIDS and Pediatric clinics. Definitely my favorite days
Morning devotions by a waterfall right outside of my bedroom-- I mean, where else would I do them right?
Joined
a 20's "connect group"(home group) on Tuesday nights to study and
discuss Gods word with some of the locals from our church! Definitely
Lakaaa! [Laka = cool] <-- Learning the lingo too! =)
Leading a D-group (devotional group) with my dear friend Jen! We are going through 1John
with 11 girls who live on campus with us! Such a
blessing!!
Attending an African Hip-hop class. Hey, why not?
Realizing servant-hood is more difficult to act out to those around you each day, not those we consider we are actually "serving". Humbling.

Random dance parties with the girls in my chalet. Cause its fun =)
Visiting
the battlefields of the English-Zulu wars and learning about South
African History- I need to be culturally competent, I think I'm doing a
good job so far. Yes?
Enjoying TEA-TIME 2x's a day-- Fresh Pastries, Fruit, Tea, and Coffee! (Why dont we do this at home!?)
Runs through a nature reserve right next to our home! Spotting zebra, monkey, and buck along the way. God had too much fun creating these magnificent animal!
Night Ice cream runs to McDonalds-- whenever we need a quick fix =)
Zip lining through a beautiful forest, seriously felt like I was a monkey swinging from tree to tree! Weeeeeeeeeee
Hiked through the Drakensburg mountains! GORGEOUS!
Allowing The Lord to truly break my heart. Asking Him to show me MY cause for His kingdom. And wondering if it might be different then I planned/thought/expected...
Falling in love with South Africa more and more each day. The land, the people, the language, (even at times) the food!
Learning how to speak Zulu... Well, kinda. "Sawubona, Unijani"-- that's a start at least?

Powdered
coffee. Yes powdered, not filter or ground or ground/instant, but
powdered. And yes its possible- I didn't think it was either. It tastes
just as good as it sounds, sooo be thankful for your coffee at home.
Referring to the USA as "the states", that's what they say here, weird huh?

Having
geckos and Mosquitos as bedtime buddies. Learning the phrase "don't let
the bedbugs bite" has a wholeee different meaning here.
